UCSA Toga Party

February 2013
University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand

1,000 new students, four live acts and a lot of bedsheets.

For many new students at the University of Canterbury, the Orientation Toga Party was their first taste of the uni events scene. In February 2013, the UCSA held it at The Foundry, its bar on campus, to welcome first-years to campus life.

As Activities and Events Manager at the UCSA, I programmed the line-up and ran the event: the logistics, the marketing and communications, and the stakeholders. Ghetto Electric, That Ruse Kid, Late Nyte Hype and The Make Believe played to a sold-out crowd of 1,000 in costume.
