Hi, I’m Daz
and I love sharing stories and bringing big ideas to life
What does a caterer, a youth worker, a TV journalist, an arts manager, a wannabe actor and a Brand agency suit have in common?
They’re all me!
my back-ground
I often joke that I’ve lived many lives.
In reality, everything I’ve done has been different ways of bringing people together and uniting them around a shared experience or idea. I believe face-to-face, real-time interaction is the best way to make strong connections, and create long-lasting impact.
But how did I get here?
As a teen, I was your typical musical-theatre geek - performing in multiple shows a year and taking part in school and regional choirs and music groups. This built in me a sense of wonder, and love for the experience of sharing art and ideas to a live audience.
I also loved to cook and entertain, so after high-school I went to culinary school whilst also volunteering as a youth worker. I then flipped the script and studied youth and community development while working as a caterer.
As a youth worker, I was in charge of organising community events as well as after-school holiday programmes - which led me to focus on events as my career, firstly in public events then moving into the corporate world.
The last 15 years have mostly been spent between not-for-profit membership organisations and brand agencies in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom… with forays into professional acting, modelling and television news!
All of this experience has helped me build a generalist skill-set across the events and media production world, allowing me to specialise in developing big, creative ideas and creating action plans to make them a reality.
My driving forces
To connect like-minded individuals
to Celebrate human achievement
To make a meaningful contribution to society
